Masjid Reopening 15/06/2020

Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,

All praise belongs to Allah. Following the recent announcement from the UK government and consultation with local Ulema, we are pleased to announce the reopening of Masjid Quba (Healey) from 15/06/2020 for individual prayers only as per the rules set out by the government.

Whilst not ideal for us as our primary purpose of praying salaah in the Masjid is to do so with Jamaat, Alhamdulilah, this is still a rahmah from Allah SWT and should be looked upon as a step in the right direction.

The Masjid will be open for 5 daily salaah at the following times ONLY:

Zuhr                             2.15pm to 3.00pm
Asr                                7.00pm to 8.00pm
Maghrib                      20 minutes after sunset for 30 minutes
Isha & Fajr                 11.30pm to 1.40am

Masjid Quba have reviewed the law and the guidelines and put measures in place for the safety of the public which all Musallees MUST follow.

Before you attend, we kindly request you MUST:

  1. perform Wudhu at home. Toilet and Wudhu facilities will NOT be available. If there is an emergency requirement for toilet use, then please speak to the volunteers however, you will need to return home for Wudhu
  2. bring your own Musallah
  3. bring a bag for your shoes. The shoe racks will not be in use and a one-way system will be in place at certain times
  4. bring your own Quran and tasbih or use your phone. Quran’s and tasbihs are NOT available in the Masjid as per the government guidelines
  5. wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds before coming to the Masjid
  6. attend individually or with other members of your household only.

At the Masjid, we kindly request you MUST:

  1. park in the car park (old car wash). Please do not park in front of the houses next to the Masjid
  2. sanitise your hands on-entry and exit using the provided hand sanitiser
  3. pray individual salaahs only. congregational prayer is NOT allowed under the current government rules
  4. always stay 2m apart from other individuals including during salaah. There are markings in the Masjid where you must stand. Please do not pray anywhere else
  5. always co-operate with the volunteers and the signs
  6. not congregate outside the Masjid
  7. leave promptly at the end or when others are waiting
  8. take everything you bring including your musallah, shoe bag, Quran, tasbihs etc. You must not leave anything behind.

The capacity of the Masjid is severely limited due to social distancing. If the Masjid is at capacity, you will need to queue. However, you must always socially distance.

If there is a queue, then the timings per individual in the Masjid will be restricted to ensure that everyone has a chance to pray.

If we follow the government rules and guidelines and the instructions given by the volunteers, Insha’Allah with Allah’s permission, Allah will open the Masaajids before the 4th of July for congregational prayer.

Who Must Not Attend:

Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 including any of the following: a new and continuous cough, high temperature or loss or change in sense of taste or smell MUST NOT ATTEND. Anyone who develops these symptoms whilst inside the Masjid must leave immediately.
Anyone living with or in contact with someone who has symptoms of COVID-19 must also not attend.

Children if they are unable to socially distance (e.g. young children) must not attend.

Who May Attend:

Over 70s: There are no restrictions on over 70s from attending however, individuals over 70 are advised to stay at home as much as possible and, if they do go out, to take particular care to minimise contact with others outside of their household.

Children: May attend but any child under 12 MUST be accompanied by an adult from the same household. Children must always stay with the adult and ensure social distancing with other individuals. This will be under review and may change at any time especially if the Masjid is full and social distancing is affected. Please do not be offended if you are asked to leave. Please return when it is possible to do so without children in that circumstance.

Other Considerations:

Individuals who are shielding should continue to follow the government’s advice on shielding.

The procedures in place are under constant review and may change at any time. We have tried to make the Masjid as accessible as possible and the procedures as easy as possible for the public whilst staying within the rules and guidelines.

Please bear with us whilst these restrictions are in place and pray that we can return to full Salaah with jamaat without these restrictions and that the plague of coronavirus is lifted from us.
