Masjid Reopening 04/07/2020

Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,

All praise belongs to Allah. Following the recent announcement from the UK government and consultation with local Ulema, we are pleased to announce the reopening of Masjid Quba (Healey) from Saturday 04/07/2020 for salaah with jamaat (congregation) as per the rules set out by the government.

This is a great blessing from Allah SWT that we are once again being provided the opportunity to pray salaah in the Masjid with jamaat and carry out other ibadah. We would like to reassure our musallees that we have taken appropriate measures to protect them and we encourage everyone to attend the Masjid from this Saturday and partake of the blessings of praying in jamaat in the Masjid.

Masjid Quba will be open for all 5 salaah as per the times published on our timetable. Jumu’ah times will be communicated separately Insha’Allah.

We have reviewed the law and the guidelines and put measures in place for the safety of the public which all musallees are requested to follow.

Before you attend, we kindly request you MUST:

  1. perform wudhu at home. Toilet and wudhu facilities will NOT be available. If there is an emergency requirement for toilet use or for wudhu, please speak to the volunteers
  2. bring your own musallah
  3. bring your own Quran and tasbih or use your phone. Quran’s and tasbihs are NOT available in the Masjid as per the government guidelines
  4. wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds before coming to the Masjid
  5. attend individually or with other members of your household only.

Face coverings are not mandatory however, are advised to be worn following the change in social distancing from 2m to 1m.

Please note: there is no need to bring a shoe bag as the shoe racks have been opened for use with measures put in to protect the public.

At the Masjid, we kindly request you MUST:

  1. park in the car park (old car wash). Please do not park in front of the houses next to the Masjid
  2. sanitise your hands on-entry and exit using the provided hand sanitiser
  3. always stay at least 1m apart from other individuals including during salaah. There are markings in the Masjid where you may pray. Please do not pray anywhere else. We also request all musallees to maintain social distancing outside the Masjid and in the car park
  4. not congregate outside the Masjid
  5. always co-operate with the volunteers and the signs
  6. take everything you bring including your musallah, Quran, tasbihs etc. You must not leave anything behind.

Due to social distancing measures, capacity in the Jamaat Khana is restricted. If the jamaat khana is full, you may be asked to pray in other areas of the building. Please do not try to use unmarked gaps between musallees in the jamaat khana as this will compromise social distancing.

Who Must Not Attend:

Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 including any of the following: a new and continuous cough, high temperature or loss or change in sense of taste or smell MUST NOT ATTEND. Anyone who develops these symptoms whilst inside the Masjid must leave immediately.

Anyone living with or in contact with someone who has symptoms of COVID-19 must also not attend.

Children if they are unable to socially distance (e.g. young children) must not attend.

Who May Attend:

Over 70s: There are no restrictions on over 70s from attending however, individuals over 70 are advised to stay at home as much as possible and, if they do go out, to take particular care to minimise contact with others outside of their household.

Children: May attend but any child under 12 MUST be accompanied by an adult from the same household. Children must always stay with the adult and ensure social distancing with other individuals. This will be under review and may change at any time especially if the Masjid is full and social distancing is affected. Please do not be offended if you are asked to leave. Please return when it is possible to do so without children in that circumstance.

Other Considerations:

Individuals who are shielding should continue to follow the government’s advice on shielding.

The procedures in place are under constant review and may change at any time. We have tried to make the Masjid as accessible as possible and the procedures as easy as possible for the public whilst staying within the rules and guidelines.

We pray to Allah SWT for a safe and full opening of our Masaajid and may He protect all our communities from sickness and ill health both spiritual and physical.

Ameen
